This update brings important corrections that improve the stability and functionality of the software, as well as useful optimizations for the workflow. Bugs affecting the scanning process and job search have been fixed, and adjustments have been made to the control of SmartTowers and the handling of flowchart steps. In addition, new functions have been prepared to further increase user-friendliness and efficiency when using future features.

New Feature "AI SmartCamera"

The newly introduced feature uses deep learning-based smart cameras in combination with synthetic training data to maximize the scalability of the system and enable seamless integration into existing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). This ensures automated and continuous real-time monitoring of manufacturing processes. This not only optimizes process documentation, but also provides valuable feedback in real time, which can increase efficiency and reduce error costs. This solution is particularly suitable for the detection of assembly errors, condition checks and compliance with safety regulations in production.

  • Functions:
    • Action recognition: Recognizes critical work steps such as applying Loctite, tightening screws or picking up parts.
    • Condition detection: Identifies the assembly of components, missing or misplaced parts to ensure that no work steps are skipped.
    • Safety equipment detection: Checks the presence of important protective equipment during critical tasks to improve both product quality and occupational safety.

Fixed Bugs

  • It was not possible to perform a scan if a scan step was used for a component or a variant without a scan filter.
  • When using the same component in different SmartTowers, a tower was not controlled correctly.
  • The job search did not work at job start if a job was searched for that could no longer be processed at the current station.
  • The OpenProtocol controller for Stahlwille tools has been optimized.
  • When copying several steps in the Flowchart Editor, some characters were not copied correctly.

UX Improvements

  • Before an uploaded file is deleted in the Flowchart Editor, the user is now prompted with a pop-up to confirm the deletion process.
  • In the ELAM assistant, the value entered in the “Value comparison” step that was evaluated with “OK” is now displayed in the history.
  • The Thingsboard Gateway has been updated on all SWA devices.

Preparations

  • The frontend for the upcoming feature “Flowchart sections” in the Flowchart Editor was prepared in the background.

Known bug

  • When copying several steps in the Flowchart Editor, the arrows of the connected steps are not displayed correctly. However, the logical connection between the steps is maintained and does not lead to any functional errors. After reloading the flowchart, the arrows are displayed correctly. This UI error is already known and will be fixed in the next update.
